Mend Sony DCR-TRV27 Code Camera

DCR-TRV27?

C-31-23 is the code that my sony video camera is flashing along with the eject symble keeps flashing and then ejects the tape and will not play in VCR mode and in the camera mode it will not record. Can you give me a idea on a fix. Should I clean the tape heads? will that possable fix the problem?

Sounds like the tape mechanism and/or path may need looking at.
