How do i fix my Bantam 800 mp3 player?

How do i fix my Bantam 800? I have had it for about half a year or maybe a full year. But like a month ago it stopped working i tried to send it in to the company but they said we don't repair tthose models since we don't make them anymore. Basically my screen turns on but it doesn't play any music and it has setup required on it at the the bottom. I don't know wha tto do when i emailed the comapny they said let the battery drain out by leaving it on. BUt when i try to leave it on it would should off after a couple of minutes. SO than they told me to let the power sleep slowly and it's beem five weeks and the thing still isn't dead. After it was to discharge i was to recharge it but i can't recharge it untillit's batteries are empty. SO what should i do to try to fix my mp3?
