how can i add a cigarette lighter to my Nissan Micra?

i removed cd player. then wired it from that. i used a fuse connector,with a 20amp fuse. it works perfect. no bother. radio removed,then ashtray. nothing else to remove. just the plug cap where the lighter would go. push it in once wires are connected, and twist to lock. simple..

If you have a covered up hole, it is very easy and just a 10 minutes job. My Nissan Micra is a 1999 (K11) model.

Although there is no lighter installed, the cabling, fuses and connectors are prefitted. See fuse box with 15 amp. fuse in the middle row.

On the bottom of the middle console there are 2 screws on each side. When unscrewed you can remove the lower part of the middle console. Remove ash tray and remove the screws on each side of the ash tray. Remove the 2 screws which are situated just above the radio gap.
Now you can remove the whole middle console by starting pulling on the lower end.

Now you can see a few connectors. The one for the lighter has two wires, one black and one black/orange with silver bands.

I bought a Cigarette Lighter at Halfords for only € 14,95 and the connector from the Nissan fits directly on the lighter. Remove the cap and place the Lighter in the hole.
Put everything back in reverse order and you're ready.

Don't forget to place the ignition key in the first position to have 12V. power.
