My Nissan Micra radio won't unlock , displays SECURE ?

My radio also did this, in my mannual it states that the ignition should be in the first position (so just the lights on the dash board come on) for 45 minutes with the radio also on. After this time the word 'SECURE' will change to 'CODE'....If you code for the radio is for example 5678, then you would press the number 1 on the radio 5 times, then press the number 2 six times, the number 3 seven times, the number 4 eight times, then you have to press the up ^ arrow on the tuning bit to enter that code keep this pressed in until you hear a beep in the speaker, if the code is entered wrong more than 20 times the radio will lock completley.........hope this advise helps!!!!....... unfortunatley it didnt help me as the screen on my radio has broken and dosnt recognise any numbers pressed :(

nissan micra 1987 , radio wont un lock , the display shows secure and wont allow me to add the code .

how do i unlock the radio, so the display shows word code?
