Nissan radios are protected by 2 different systems. Initially each radio is set to match the original vehicle ECU (engine computer unit) like the car key. This can be set only by the radio's internal computer. To unlock this safety measure
you need a real expert or the goodwill of Nissan company. The second lock is a 4 figure code that you have to key. In case you remove the radio and put it back again you will be asked to key a code. This code you can get free from any Nissan dealer if you prove ownership.

Have just bought a 04 plate Nissan micra but need to get my stereo remove in order to obtain the code. I have been to lodes of garages who cannot do it ( remove the stereo ) and the dealer has quoted me £107 for the whole process which is a lot of money. I was recommend to go to a radio store who quoted me £70 £40- reset the code and £30- to remove the stereo at these rate I could buy and get a new stereo fitted.

Question is their 1 universal code for a new shape 2004 se or does each car have it's own code? I would like to find a cheaper way of solving this problem. I have contacted the dealer who
cannot locate my info and I do not have a book either nor have I Got access to my pervious code. What do you recommend I should do any advice would b most helpful.

We have this problem with an 03 plate, battery been flat, accepts code but says wait 1 hr then just reverts back to 0000. Any ideas

you sure its not code in?
which is the security code for the raido. this happens when your battery dies and it resets which require you to input the 4 digit code. which can be found in your manual hope this helps

what nissan rddio is it model number?

some of these have been programmed with car immo so dealer otherwise can be done on workbench but not for talk here

You will need to leave the ignition on to the first turn of the key (IE. before the lights come on) for up to an hour. The display will then change to CODE and you can put in your code.
