Hi there.
First post.
Sorry, i cant help, but i would like to ask for peoples opinions of this coffee machine (AEG220). I am thinking about buying one off ebay, as its a lot cheaper than buying a DeLonghi.
What is the quality like? What is the crema like? Etc.
i would appreciate ANY help at all.

I also have a problem , think with heating element because it keeps flashing the descale and clean lights as well as the heating light. May have ignored the descaling for too long. I probably will get a new machine after two years; my experience is not good with coffee machine repairs - it is often not economical if it's a key part. Anyone interested in parts, msmelik1@yahoo.co.uk.

Yes, another E-Bay special - nice coffee-shame about the german instructions...
The english version is available in PDF format at the address below (the first bit is German though).
We have one of these at work, as well as at home. They make great coffee, but there doesn't seem to be much backup. Electrolux might be able to help though? Good luck.

I don't have an answer to the original question but I have a problem in that I can't seem to remove the internal mechanism to clean it. It seem like one of the three levers you have to engage is jammed (the one on the left) and i fear it may have jammed whislt in the middle of a cycle. Anybody got any ideas. Does anyone have a copy of the instructions please. Help! Shaun

I also have a AEG CF220 purchased August 2007. Having a problem with the brewer unit (latching cartridge on the spindle). It goes into heating mode then stops and the green heating light flashes. I have been unable to find anyone to repair although I could contact the suppliers in Germany (with difficulty)
Can you give me the details for the company were you are able to obtain a replacement cartridge.
I can also supply a copy of the manual for the CF220 if you send details.
Regards

you seem to have the same problem as me i have tested the continuity of the heater element and it appears that this is the problem i think i have found a company who can supply a new unit but its £60 so its going to be touch and go whether i repair or replace i have just replaced the brewing unit so although the cafamosa makes lovely coffee i may cut and run with this one

Could it be limescale build up? I think there's a way to descale using the two little buttons on the front. I was never able to understand the german instructions enough to know how to do it though.
