Mend Bosch Classixx 1200 Washing Drain Cycle

Washing Machine Bosch Classixx 1200 won't drain?

The machine goes through the normal cycle until it gets to the draining bit. Then the 'end' indicator starts flashing and the whole thing stops.

Any advice on what might be wrong - and how to drain the water to remove the clothes!

Thanks!

Mine was the drain hose. Took my courage and blew very hard down it ( clean the end before putting in your mouth!). It took quite some but something gave, and now it works!

THanks for all the answers, mend it.
The issue was a clog in the drain pump as well

Manually drained through the pipe and checked the filter but nothing there. I’ve just run it empty on 90 degree wash and it seems to be working fine

had this problem tried all of the above still no look, with spinning or draining so took the waste water pipe of the pump and this was blocked had to poke a long thin tube down it and all this black solid gunk came out now the washer works fine, was told we needed a new pump so saved over £100 & engineer never looked at the waste pipe so try removing this first before you call engineer or change the pump etc

Hi, anyine finding this thread... just done mine... screwdriver bit was jamming the pump. The previous time it was three hairgrips. The hairgrips were also jamming the filter and stopping it from turning to be removed (lots of people seem to have this problem). I broke the filter handle trying to force it round (so don't :-))

try wiggling it backwards and forwards to try to loosen it. failing that you will need to:

1. pull the machine out and open the back (after disconnecting it from power)

2. remove the back to get at the pipes

3. remove the waste pipe clips inside (with a bucket ready to catch the water

4. feel around inside the waste pipe where the hose meets the filter and pump... remove anything jamming the filter from opening.

5. re attach the waste hose. fit the back.. remove the filter from the front and make sure the pump is unblocked an can turn.

6. refit the filter, reconnect the power and it should work.

Draining a Bosch Classixx is a pain unless you:

1. Put bucket under door before opening.
2. Pull machine out (using opened door) & then tilt back so you can get a decent sized receptacle under the floor level drain.

The above worked for me - I had a flashing Spin Rinse light.. nothing would work
I drained from the front screw plug and found 4 5p peices removed - drained and after mopping up the kitchen - it all worked..
Thanks

I had exactly the same problem with my Classix 1400, it was the filter- there was a piece of chewed-up material stuck in it. we wondered why it had been making such a noise recently, then it stopped draining altogether.

I'm just running a test wash now with all the towels i needed for the kitchen floor!

If machine has stopped mid cycle, try to drain it by advancing the program to spin, this will switch on the pump and empty out the water. Alternatively, drain machine by running the outlet pipe into a bucket at floor level or run the outlet pipe out of the back door if it'll reach. Power off, drag machine out onto the floor, remove the back and top covers. May help if the machine is tilted at an angle.
Check the pressure switch -the system that determines correct water level in the drum. If its giving an incorrect indication to the program timer machine will either overfill, refuse to fill or refuse to spin. Its an air operated diaphragm switch triggered by rising air pressure induced by the entry of water into an airtight vessel attached to the base of the drum. It tells the program timer that the water has reached the correct level, allowing it to proceed to the next stage in the wash cycle. Power off, drag machine out onto the floor, remove back cover and top cover. The pressure switch is a round item about 3 inches across with several wires and a thin rubber pipe attached. It generally sits just under the top cover. Disconnect the thin rubber pipe from the switch and blow down through it to clear any blockage. Switch itself may be faulty but its more likely the pressure pipe or the vessel attached to the other end of the pipe is blocked. Remove the pressure vessel, put a small nut or screw in it, fill it with water and shake vigorously till any crud or residue is removed. Some machines have the pressure vessel integrated as part of the filter unit, with a pressure chamber moulded into the top of the filter body. Refit all parts, check that joints and connections are water tight.

Also check the filter itself - generally located behind a panel at the foot of the machine. Some are obvious like little square hatches and some are hidden behind the trim panel at the foot of the machine. Once panel is removed the filter should be visible. Its generally a circular plastic fitting which unscrews in an anticlockwise direction. Some hotpoint, indesit and ariston filters are located in the big black sump hose (the one that leaves the bottom of the outer drum and connects to the pump). Power off, drag machine out onto the floor, remove back cover or tip machine up at an angle. Locate sump hose, remove the tensioner clip by squeezing the tabs together with a large pair of pliers or vise grips, remove the hose, take out filter and clean. Be prepared for spillage of water. May help if the machine is tilted backwards at an angle.

Disconnect pump from sump hose and check for obstruction in either item. Pump removal: power off, drag machine out onto the floor, remove back cover or tip machine up at an angle, locate pump, (attached to other end of drain pipe).undo 2 wiring connections, 2 hose connections - remove the tensioner clips by squeezing the tabs together with a large pair of pliers or vise grips. Remove pump mounting screws. Remove pump chamber - some are held in with screws, others clip into place. Check for foreign objects round the impeller. If pump chamber is clear, may be a fault with the pump motor - in which case, replace the pump. Some machines have a combined pump and filter unit.

Helen,

At the bottom right hand corner of your machine there is a filter, try and get a small container and it would be advisable to have some towels laid down on the floor. then unscrew drain plug anti-clockwise to drain off excess water, once you remove plug fully put your finger inside both drain holes to check for any blockages like coins, replace drain plug and tighten clockwise.

Good Luck
