How to fix leak on Hoover de luxe A3950/A3952 model?

Could be simply overfilling. Most likely cause is a blocked pressure sytem. This is attached to the sump hose (between the the drain pump and the underside of the tub). Make sure the machine is fully emptied (detach the hose from the pump and drain it into a bowl) then detach the small expansion bottle from the hose and clean it out. A few small nuts or screws shaken about inside it should help.

Remove the soap dispenser drawer and make sure the interior of the dispenser box is clean as sometimes a soap build up causes water to run out of the vent, refit the soap dispenser drawer.
Whilst you're at it, put a mug full of WASHING soda (not CAUSTIC soda!) crystals directly into the drum and let the machine run right through a 95 degree programme (without prewash). It'll help to clean out any soap muck that may be fouling the water level sensor system. Good luck. :-)
