Hi Matt, it sounds very much like the door interlock needs replacing (a common fault). The interlock works by closing an electrical circuit and locking the door once this has been done. There are usually 3 wire connections to it and can be replaced by removing the lid and the retaining screws holding the interlock in place from the outside, lifting the interlock up, remove and replace the wires in the correct order and refit. Yes, sounds very easy! MAKE SURE YOU DISCONNECT THE MACHINE FROM THE MAINS FIRST.
