Mend Ariston A1635 Margherita Door Machine

How can I get the door open?

I have an Ariston A1635 Margherita washing machine. The motor has short circuited and I now have a load of washing trapped in the machine. The repair man can't come for 10 days! How can I get the door open?

I've tried setting the machine to the end of the cycle and have disconnected the motor to be able to provide power to the door lock, but it still won't release.

HELP!

Ariston Ariston A1635 Margherita Household Appliances, Washing Machines Door Ariston Machine

On some machines there is a plastic strap located in the dispenser housing, located by removing the dispenser tray or there maybe release tab located on the lock latch mechanism accessed either by removing the top or bottom panels of washer. Pull the tab and door should. Ensure that unit is unplugged.
