How can I fix my HP Deskjet 840c?

My printer's paper feeding capablility is not functioning; how can I fix the problem?

If your rollers are covered in white dust residue from the paper it can cause the paper to slip when being fed.

Turn the printer off, open the lid and scrub the rollers clean using a gentle scouring pad, the rollers should turn easily enough.

Once the rollers look black again your paper will pick up correctly
