Ihave a dish network remote for my sylvania 6427te tv?

Have you ever been able to view movies with this DVD and this tv? I am having the same problem, just broke down and bought our first DVD player and can't get the set up screen on the tv....have you gotten that far yet? One of my tv's only has the co-ax cable out let no little yellow, white and red "holes" for those wires you are supposed to connect from your tv to the DVD. I don't have the original remote for the tv, so I don't know what I am going to do.
