how can i fix my dishwasher hotpoint bf162?

I have the same problem with my dishwasher as was posted in 2005 ...
there are four cycles on my dishwasher it is stuck on the last cycle which shows a rinse symbol. the water has emptied out of the dishwasher but the cycle will not go any further. the light is continually flashing.
hotpoint integrated dishwasher bf162. Any ideas anybody please
