The warning light for 'empty' comes on even though it has plenty of water in it. It does have some 'gunge' on the internal wiring and connectors which I have cleaned as best I can. I suppose it is an old model and perhaps near the end of its life? I thought Propress went on forever?? Anyone any ideas?
Some times the probe that determines the height of the water gets corroded up and does not read correctly.
I could repair it for you if you still have not been sorted.

Contact Propress directly - I had a problem with mine and they couldn't have been more helpful in getting sorted - that's what they do and they really seem to care about their products.
