How do I get my Triton T80si to work when there's a low pressure light?

For some reason my triton shower has completely stopped working all of a sudden.

The low pressure red light is on even though we clean the shower head almost every day, and there's no water coming out of the shower at all.

Anyone have any suggestions as to why?

My solenoid assembly/stabiliser on my T80xr became blocked. I had just had the water company in to test how many bars they were delivering - 2.

The problem was I could not turn off the water supply. Clearly it was not the on/off switch. Turned off water supply and power at the fuse box. I removed the inlet filter which was very clean. Called Triton. They wanted £50 to send me part P12120800!!

Might as well buy a new shower for £100 with 2 year guarantee. Will sleep on this.

Solution - I made a funnel (out of Speedfix) so I could get descaler into the hole the filter sits in. Now you could use vinegar. 2 hours later my solonoid sprang back into life - it might have been only seconds. Fully flushed the system through and now back to normal for a few pennies.

To answer your question. If the low pressure light comes on the water supply will cut off. The answer is simply. Tell anyone else in the house you are going to have a shower and you need all the water supply. So no flushing loos etc until you have finished. Electric showers are crude and rely on 100% of your water supply. If they don't get it they will supply hotter water or as a safety precaution cut out.

I've got the same problem and it's definitely linked to avaailable water pressure. We live in an area with fairly low pressure anyway, and the shower can be tempremental. If someone runs a tap or your trying to use it at "rush hour" there's no chance and the "LP" light comes on. You can sometimes get away with it on the Econ mode but not always. I've opened it up hoping to see something that might adjust the sensitivity bu no joy. I'll be watching this discussion to see if any revelations pop up.

you talk the biggest load of rubbish i've ever heard.

>It`s a safety device to stop you getting scalded.

there is no safety device that shuts of the water to stop you getting scalded.
thats a tco that shutts down the heating elements not the water flow.

check your solenoid valve is opening.
do a ohms test should be 3.5 any lower it's faulty.

>Get someone with some basic knowledge to open it up, theres not a lot in them..but disconnect the electrical supply first as these things carry huge currents.

you can't test it with the electric off

It`s a safety device to stop you getting scalded. Either you have low water pressure or a faulty flow regulator. Do you live in a hard water area..may be blocked by limescale. Get someone with some basic knowledge to open it up, theres not a lot in them..but disconnect the electrical supply first as these things carry huge currents.
