How can i dismantle my Dyson?

My Dyson DC05 decided not to work the other day, there isn't a burning smell & the fuse is fine.
I want to check out the motor & the wiring but i'm unable to get to the inside, can anyone help ?

the key to dismantling the DC05 is removing the wheels. Remove these and you can undo the screws holding the thing together. I drilled a small pilot hole in each of the plastic inserts in the centre of each wheel. The screw a small self tapper into this, you will need to put the end of a chisel or something sharp to stop it rotating. When secure and with some sticking out, pull the screw with mole grips/pliers. Out pops the plug, pull wheels hard and they too pop off.

Leave a small neat hole. the rest is really easy. Thanks to David Wright above who confirmed my suspicion that the wheels had to come off some how.

You need to start by stripping the unit down to its motor housing.
From there onwards you need to remove the wheels. On some sites you are told you lever off the wheels with a large screwdriver. However, if you have coloured inserts in the wheel centres of your appliance, then you need to remove these as they lock the wheels onto the spigots.
I found the easiest way of removal is by inserting the short right angled pointed end of a scriber in the small gap around the insert, and pushing the point of the scriber into the material. When you have a sufficient grip on the insert you need to apply a steady pull and it will come out. You can then lever off the wheel very easily with a large screwdriver. The rest of the stripdown is easy as it only involves 5 torx (T15) screws (2 on either side and 1 on the top).

Hope this helps,
