mower will not go in forward or reverse?

MTD yardmachine model 461707 , type0143E1 , code 0003075A, runs but doesnot go into gear, forward or reverse

Assuming no trasmission fault, the drive belt is dragging. Has it been standing? Rust on the pulleys will cause this. In that's the case it will cure itself in time. In extreme cases, you may have to manually clean the drive pulleys.
