kenmore model 1221 - inconsistent stitches?

These are the only reasons why the machine will vary in stitch size on straight stitch, not enough pressure on the presser foot
if the machine misses stitches where you get a few short stitches then some long stitches could be down to a bent or blunt needle, the very worst it could be is the machine is out of time but only as a last resort, bit confused on the zig zag bit, are you saying that on the straight stitch length dial that it suddenly goes to zig zag? if you can give me some more information on that one, e-mail me at drivewithken@blueyonder.co.uk
