The bike would cut out upon trying to start up in the morning. At t.lights the bike would cut out.. Also it BACK FIRES..! I took it to a garage and they said the throttle cable around the wheel was rusty..Charged £70 and this still back fires..The garage said the bike now needs a new cam chain as its a 2001 and is on its way out thats why its timing is out..Any clues to what the problem is ??
when i put mine on the stand after a long journey (25mins) as soon as i put it on the stand it will conk out and at the lights it will conk out??
any ideas of how to remove the exhaust bracket as well?? cheers

hi there
i had the same problem with my gilera. and the problem was the spark plug it had a crack down both sides of the plug that was causeing the backfireing and cutting out. changed the plug and fixed the problem all fine now check your spark plug to make sure no cracks.
