Mend Zanussi intelli-set Gas Smell Turned

my zanussi intelli-set fridge/freezerr has a gas like smell?

I open the fridge and it smells almost like gas. It has turned black inside and even the freezer inside door is black, it is almost like smoke.
Can this be fixed or do I need a new one.

Please any info will be appreciated.

Hopefully you haven't defrosted it with anything metal and punctured the system.
If not mix a solution of water and bi carbonate of soda and wash thoroughly the inside.
