Creda 37468 tumble drier?

Thanks Peter C. But how does the belt fit round the pulleys. Assuming this is the same as your Creda model

I'm sorry that this answer has been delayed. I was working away from home and was unable to fix the belt on my daughters machine but I have now done it.

Remove the screws at the bottom of both sides. Remove all of the screws visible at the back of the machine.

Pull off the timer knob. Slide the panel that held the timer knob to the left and it will click, lift the panel off but leave the wires in place.

Remove the screws along the top edge of the front panel. You should now be able to remove the top and side panel

Remove the two screws from the top of the door panel (pointing down to the floor) then remove the screws that are under the door and the door panel should lift off.

Put the machine on its back.

On the model I have just repaired there are two pulleys which are held together by a spring. The belts are slightly offset in height but are in-line as regards the belt run.

Run the belt around the drum.Pull one of teh pulleys away from the other then unsert a loop of the slack belt between the two pulleys. The drive shaft of the motor has a groved section on it. With your free hand pull the loop over the shaft and slide the belt down to the grooved section. If you now release the pulley the belt will form a V which holds the two pulleys apart.

The arrangement looks like a V with pulleys on the outer edges of the top parts of the V and the drive shaft sat in the bottom of the V.

If you cannot get this vision in your mind I can probably post a piccy onto my webspace for you to view the arrangement.
