Mend Glow Worm economy plus 40F Central Heating Thermostat Overheat

Glow Worm economy plus 40F central heating problem?

We have a GW economy plus 40F boiler that is heating our water fine but when you turn the central heating thermostat on the pilot lights, the fan kicks in then there is lots of banging before the overheat button clicks out. Is this a common problem and is it easily solved?

I had the same problem from my GW e+ 40f boiler last year turns out that it was the fan, which may i add is a doddle to fit and costs around £180 from here --> http://www.hccfspares.com/
