My Potterton 60E boiler will run for about 10 minutes then trip out, once it has cooled a little I can reset it and it will run for several minutes before it trips out again and so on....
It has been powerflushed and the overheat thermostat has been changed but the problem still persists.
I have only had the hot water side on during the summer which I switched off when I went on vacaton. When I returned and put the hot water side back on it ran ok for a couple of days then started to trip out again. Only once at first but over a few days it was back to only lasting for several minutes before it tripped out. It was the same after the poweflush and also when I switched the central heating side on.
Any ideas please will be greatly appreciated?
P.S. the system is a pumped system and the pump and zone control valves seem to be working correctly.
Hi Paulywest, Have you fixed your boiler problem? If so, How?
My Potterton 60E has started to do the very same thing..? Please post how you solved the problem. Thanks

possibly need a bypass installed and or replace pump it sounds like lack of circulation.

could be incorrect burner pressures, faulty boiler thermostat, faulty pump, air lock or a blockage in the system (powerflushing does not remove solid blockages)
