Tape Stuck in my Sony VCR?

My sony slv-775hf vcr has a video tape stuck. It almost ejects the tape but it drops back in before ejecting completely. HELP

I've seen this problem on sony decks it may be due to the door not fully opening or in-sync with ejected tape. Tape may complete ejection and hit your finger if you hold door open as you press eject button.

Take off the lid (disconnect from mains first). Try winding the cogs slowly on the right side of the loading tray by hand as you help it out. This can happen with a healthy VCR. The tape may be damaged, throw away.
