Mend Craftsman 944604250 Tractor Model Help

craftsman 15.5 tractor won't move?

craftsman 15.5 model 944604250...can anyone help the mower does not move,it does run, also the pedal that depresses on the left side does not come back up....also the trans shifter has no label on it, does anyone know what position puts it in what gear...help....Racheal

Thanks Byron, the pedal does come up if you pull it up, as for anything in the way no. I can move the pedal back and forth with my hand but it does not come back up all the way when i let it go. Is it supposed to come all the way up or just part way? Is there an adjustment or spring that i am not seeing. Thanks for the prior info. Racheal

Racheal, the pedal on the left is the brake. The mower won't move with the brake on. First see if there is a tree branch caught in the linkage. Most likely to be on the right side under the GO pedal. If you can pull the left pedal up; you may have a broken or disconnected spring (also on the right side ). Also, your brake may be jammed. It can be easily removed by loosening 2 bolts. The brake is located outside the transmission on the right side.
