Can anyone supply information on th Potterton EP3000 CH controller?

We have just moved in to a property with a faulty Potterton EP3000 controller. Initially everything worked fine for a couple of hours. Now there is no display. I have no information available as to how to gain access to the internal connections to check the supply. Does anyone know how to open the controller; there are hinges at the top, an access slot underneath, but no indication as to how to lift the front plate. Any assistance or diagrams/instructions please

Sounds like the sort of thing I need too for the Potterton EP3001. We can't seem to get completely independent operation of the CH from the HW so maybe it has been wired to the three way valve incorrectly.

Also I'm replacing the backup battery and I notice two slide switches on the rear of the panel. One is marked "Security On/Off" (currently off) and the other "Set prog. switch before fitting battery. 16/10" (currently 10).

Any clues?

I can do you a copy of the original installers guide that covers the EP 3000 + a customer guide. May just need to cover my costs though.!
Also some useful stuff on this web location when I did a search on "replacing a synchron motor"
