Mend Marathon 100B Boiler Thermocouple Working

marathon 100b boiler?

my boiler went off on its own while running normaly. i assumed the thermocouple has stoped working so i replaced it but the pilot will not stay on. how can i check the thermocouple is giving an output.what is the value of its output ie. voltage and what does it operate or is there a problem some where else

first make sure the boiler is not in demand whilst trying to light it then if you establish a pilot but everytime you release the pilot button it goes out you will find the gas valve is stuck closed very common new gas valve required
