Machine goes through all wash/rinse cyles but when it comes to the long spin cycle it sounds as if it is trying to start the spin cycle but does not

On the water pump underneath, is a round washer/ plug. When I removed it, I found a coin inside. This was preventing the machine from draining, and thus would not spin. Once I'd cleared this blockage, the machine now works perfectly. So simple.

I found the selector switch to be faulty and by giving it a knock or pulling it out when on the spin cycle it will start spinning. Am trying to work out how to fix this permanently.+27722823091

The fan belt has come off. The nut that holds the large rim at the rear of the drum becomes loose and starts to wobble. Tighten nut and use a spring washer. Make sure the tension is ok. If it is not you can adjust it by loosening one nut on the motor to the right below and push the motor down and refasten.

Had the same problem. Electrician solved it by disconnecting spin cycle wiring from the programme and select/deselect switch and inserting a 20 micro farad 440 volt capacitor. Has worked fine since.

I found that my machine's drain pump impela (fan / paddle) was obstructed by a metal pin (like half a bobby pin) and could not turn. This caused the bulk of the wash water to stay in the machine and it would not therefore spin. Removing the pump, taking the pump apart, cleaning and re assembly and re fitting is quite an awkward job but fairly simple. My machine now works like new and the spin cycle is far less noisy too. Make sure also that the end of the drain pipe is at least 40cm above floor level as per the manual.

yes this is so - it used to wash and spin 3 towels and 1 bathmat on C Cycle, now I have to remove half and try again.
