optima xm6 ..its broke ctd?

got two panic alarms , nothing happening with either of them when i press them .
im guessing the carpet fitter has moved/damaged a wire.. it went off a few times i reset straight away and then i thought i would leave it till they had finished to stop it going off all the time so i dont know if thats impacted on it .
Ive got a brother whose got a bit of elecrtical knowledge and i shall bribe him with a roast dinner tomorrow but it would be great if you could give me some idea of what to tell him to do. ( ps ive had the front off it and alarm didnt go off ).

It sounds like the cable has been damaged. The Alarm System will not indicate a Tamper when the lid is removed because a PA fault is still present and needs to be reset (the wire needs to be repaired and hence the circuit will be cleared and the system will reset).
1 Find the damaged cable and repair.
2 Ensure that the PA buttons have been reset, usually with a key.
3 Replace the control panel lid.
4 Press Reset
5 The system should give you a double beep and be ready to be used again.
