Angie, Bad news I'm afraid theres nothing reliable that you can paint on to repair the leak, you really will be wasting your time.

Caravans have a flexible seal along the joints (a bit like the one between your bath and the wall) over a period of time this sealant hardens and fails.

If you've got water showing inside I'm afraid it will be damaging the internal wooden structure and rotting the wall framework. Over a short period of time the leak will manifest itself as severe damp and cause quite alot of long term damage.

The only thing you can do is repair the seal, the good news is you more than likely wont need a new roof and repairing seals is a job that many older caravans require at some stage.

If you or a friend attempt the job yourself you will need to remove the roof edge trim, clean the old sealant off and renew, probably replacing the stainless steel screws that secure the trim. Speak to a local caravan dealer as its a special sealant, one you wont find in your local DiY store.

In the meantime a large tarpaulin or waterproof cover from B&Q will prevent further damage.
