I have trouble starting my weed wacker. What are the proper button settings to start a weed wacker? It has mixed gas and I have primed it. Model STIHL FS 45

my weed wacker starts but shuts off after 20 seconds or more. i use to run it of half, instead of run. do you think that i damage anything?
