Thanks so much! Yes you were right press the light housing on both sides and then remove those long screws. Flip it over and use the screw driver to pry on the sides where the arrows are on the rubber, Look in that slot and see which way to puch the screw driver so you do not crack the housing. Once the sides are loose, you will have to jiggle it and wiggle it to get the cover off. Good luck, I bet all the little old ladies threw their vacuums out after having to try and change the belt!

So did I.
My vacuum runs fine but the beater brush no longer
rotates, but the belt does not seem broken.
I can't figure how to disassemble it. I have loosened
the only two screws visible and have slid the sliders.
But I have no more action.
