Mend Light Whilst Long

whats wrong with my straightners?

the red light on my straightners keep turning off whilst i straighten my hair, sometimes it stays on for a long time and other times it keeps turning off to on. I`ve noticed that its the direction i move them.The heat stays on but the light goes off how can i fix them?
