Mend Vauxhall Astra 99 Gear

Change gear knob (Vuaxhall Astra 99)?

Hi

I have a vauxhall astra 99 1.8 CD spec and am trying to change the gear knob, if has lift and reverse and have bought new one but cant get old one off HELP PLEASE

To repleace the gear know on my daughters corsa we had to cut the old one off (carefully to avoid damge to you, not the old gear knob, with a stanley knife!), and this was repalced with a shiny blue rip-speed repleacement, which has a 'grub' screw to retain it,
