Hello,
I have a Pro Heat 7909-1. This may help most of you for a unit not pumping soap/water.
I also have had the problem since the first use of the pump sometimes not working.
The unit appears to vacuum up water and dirt no problem, however sometimes when I push the button to pump the water and cleaning fluid it does not work.
It appears that the pump can sense if the unit is vacuuming or not! There is a diaphragm mechanism in the pump that does not allow the pump to work if the dirty water is full. It stops the flow of water / solution from dispensing if the tank is full. Actually very ingenious.
I started with that. I cleaned the unit inside and out. I also cleaned the hose lines, the tanks, trigger, and the heater. (Put tanks and other non electrical parts in the dishwasher) Air compressor to clean the hoses solution lines.
When I emptied the solution tank, I noticed the solution was slimy. I always use the Bissell solution, thought that was strange. New bottles from the store were the same way.
I strain the solution now with a coffee filter before putting it in the solution reservoir.
Since I have been straining the solution and emptying when the dirty water is full I have had no problem.
Here’s what to do:
1. Vacuum your carpet very well before cleaning!
2. Strain your cleaning solution every time to remove the slime.
3. Clean everything, hoses, plastic parts, EVERYTHING.
4. Make sure the belts are good, Since you have it apart, replace them!
Good luck.
