Mend Number Work Screen

VCR/DVD Recorder Model Number NV-VP31EB/EBL my remote control will not work?

VCR/DVD Recorder Model Number NV-VP31EB/EBL: In the menu screen 'others' I accidentally set my remote control to VCR2 and now I cannot access the menu screen to change it back to VCR1. Can anyone help me?

ok - after further reading on the matter - i might of come up with a solution.

on page 61 the following procedure should clear the stored settings and reset the system.

With the system switched on and nothng playing / recording etc you will need to hold the following keys together.
rewind - play (on dvd side) and eject button - press and hold all keys until "initialised" disappears from the tv.

When this happens, turn off the unit and wait for thirty seconds - switch on and setup the unit.

any problems, give me an email at tim@pcdgroup.fsnet.co.uk
and i'll send you the user manual and some screenshots etc.

good luck.

right then - i took a while to browse the manual on the panasonic web site. I found on page 35 :

Shipping condition resets the VCR back to the original factory settings except
Owner ID information. This is useful if the VCR is going to be used in a new
location as auto-setup will begin again when the unit is switched on (after
connecting to aerial and mains).
! Press MENU, the Menu screen appears.
! With select the Tuning menu, confirm with ENTER.
! With select [Shipping condition] and confirm with ENTER.
! Press ENTER to confirm.
! To re-tune the VCR, disconnect and reconnect the AC Mains lead.

ok - so you can get the remote control to function with the video coz you have set the video control to a different setting.

The only thing that i can think of would be to disconnect the mains power and open the case (it will void warrenty though) and look for a battery backup function. Chances are you will find it on the main board (i am not familier with panasonic stuff) - try to remove the nattery if possible and leave for around an hour. re-insert and switch on, the video should default back to standard factory settings.

If you cant work it out, give me a shout. Are you handy with a soldering iron ?

best regards,
tim
