how do i wire up a rev counter on a diesel engine?

On a older diesel the rev counter was either wired into the W terminal on the alternator or to the crank sensor.

Newer diesels the rev counter is controlled by the ecu.

Have a look at your alternator for a terminal marked W

Make sure its a diesel rev counter you are using as petrol ones wont work.
