while changing the oil and filter the filter housing cracked and i was advised to replace it with a screw on filter instead. car was on a jack for 2 days cos having back brakes done too and also had no oil in for 2 days til i could get the bolt i needed for the new filter.
anyway up and running now but the oil light is on. was told the pressure switch may need cleaning but not been able to get that out yet. unplugged the wire and the light went off which indicates its the switch.
my main problem now though is the engine sounds a bit noisy. wondering if the new screw on filter is working right and giving enough pressure. dont want my engine to blow up and i need to fix it quick as going away the weekend?

hi thanks for replies. i think it is cos of using a different filter method to be honest cos problems only started since changed it. have ordered part. it should be here tomorrow. will let you know how i get on!

Think I would stop right there and dont go any further,go to scrappy and source the original part that cracked with a new filter,better than a new engine.
