how can i fix my peugeot 205 gti?

M8 this is not a easy job at all! I would really get some else to do it for ya! Why don't you ask lee! lol!

Mine took me ages and lots of pain and suffering, it is sort of self explaining however, removing the gearbox etc.. will require a good trolly jack or engine crane! you may also want some help with this if it is your first time!

The worst case is if your clutch pedel once fitted does not sit off the floor. make sure you have a small rod that goes between the clutch plate and cable in tact or your in deep cow's .... . If thats the case you have to take it apart!

have fun if you attempt this on your own! i would get someone else myself.

well said lee. if your thinking of doing something like a clutch always buy a manual and read a few times so you can make sure you have the correct tools at hand.and try not to do it on a sunday as you might need to buy a tool or part and the shops are shut.or is that just me that it happens to lol.

Speaking of gear linkages, a new set of link rods from Peugeot is less then £30 & easy to fit.

If it was my own car I would do the clutch cable & gear linkage rods as well.

by removing the gearbox,then replace clutch kit ,refit gearbox and set up gear linkage .
not a job for faint hearted

For a start the gearbox is going to have to be moved out of the way before you can even get to the clutch.

Best advice is go & buy / borrow a Haynes workshop manual & have a good read.

Also if your keeping the car fit a decent make of clutch kit Valeo / Brembo & it maybe an idea to also change the clutch cable while you have it in bits ( they are dirt cheap anyway )
