how can i fix the screen on my portable dvd player?

my portable dvd player which is a philips one, has a screen that has got some broken pixels and there is a bid black line going verticslly down the screen. The line seems to have got bigger over time and is becoming a nusience! please can you give me some advice on what to do about it.
