I have just moved into a house which has a fully functional CH system powered by a Potterton Profile 80E. I have no documentation to indicate when it was intalled, but Brit Gas suggests that I replace it with a new condensing boiler. Can anyone give me a clue as to when this model of boiler became available. Potterton's website has details of Profile 80L but not of 80E. Any help gratefully accepted.
It might be a Baxi 80E ,which might help you guess the age of your boiler , Dont order a new bolier from BG as you will have to take a morgage out to cover it .

I have a Potterton Profile 80e that was installed early 2000. I'm just having the gas valve replaced as there is apparently a small 'leak' which results in what appears to me to be a permanent Pilot Light, but I'm told it shouldn't happen. I think it has always been there! Other than that it's still working fine. Someone told me that replacing it with a Condensing Boiler would mean replacing large sections of the whole heating system... so I'm keen to avoid that and keep this one going.

your boiler will most likely be over 10 years old, but I am sure if you email potterton with the GC number and serial number they should be able to tell you when it was made
