Mend Lawn Boy 1160 Pull Starter

the pull starter came out of my lawn boy trimmer?

When I went to start it and gave it a pull the handle came all of the way out with the string. Can this be fixed? It is a 1987 Lawn Boy grass trimmer. 31CC Model 1160

Yes as long as the spring didn't break, you can get a new piece of string and wind it back on the spool. I have an old Lawn Boy mower the will not die and i keep repairing things like that . I can't bring myself to ditch a mower with an engine that keeps starting on one pull!!
