Springs Missing On Briggs & Stratton?

Neighbors kids came while I was talking to someone. When I came back the kids had altered the lawnmower. There were no springs on it, I don't know if anything else is missing.


I looked up an IPB and got a yellow governor spring. I put it on per parts depot instructions. It runs way to fast, it smokes. Runs better (slower) with the spring off. Is there another spring?

So does any one have an illustration of the area that shows the spring(s)?
How many springs should there be?
