Mend Mitsubishi Turn Seconds

I have a Mitsubishi WS55809 will not stay on.mfg 9/01?

When you turn the power on the green light comes on for a few seconds and then clicks off. I called a company to repair and they charge 99 each way to picsk it up and to return it. They estimate minimum repairs at $620. I just don't have it. Can anyone help me out?
Kindest regards. Connie

i know you prob. wont get this, but i had the same prob. and was fixed for 280.00 find yourself a honest tv repair man, he said that the prob was common with this set for the amount of time on it, he also said that it is easier to fix these sets rather than new ones, after it was fixed it looks just as good as new. he also said i have another good 5 yrs with this set

It may not solve your problem, but if you go to:
http://en.allexperts.com/q/TV-VCR-Stereo-1749/Mitsubishi-WS-55809-Projection.htm

you can read about what it takes to repair the item and one possible solution. The person asking the question has the same TV and the same problem.
