Mend Sylvania CL1821 Tv Remote Stopped

How can I set my tv to "tv/video"?

I have a 18" sylvania and the remote sensor has stopped working. All I use this tv for is watching dvds, so i need the tv/video function. Is there a way to set the tv to tv/video from the inside of the tv?

Test your remote by pointing it at your mobile phone camera and see if the infra red led flashes.. or connecting a scart lead between tv and dvd should auto switch the tv into av mode. There is nothing that can be done inside the tv
