How can I fix my rowenta steam iron?

My RwentaDE831 iron does not turn on.It shut down while I was ironing. When I plug in in I hear a clicking noise.Prior to it shutting off I added water above the fill line. Could water have dripped insode the iron?

My Rowenta also will not work ...I plug it in and as soon as I start to use it it shuts off.

Wow! I also overfilled my Rowenta passed the fill line and had the same clicking noise. Perhaps it'll work again if I leave some time for it to dry?

I'm researching this same problem. Maybe there is a recall? I've only had my iron a little over a year and have treated it with tender loving care. I'm miffed that I have to buy a new one so am hoping someone will come forth with an answer to this dilemma.

I don't have an answer yet, but I am experiencing the same problem with the DE-831. It just will not turn on. I checked the plug and tried a different outlet but it is still not turning on. Anyone have any suggestions?
