Bendix Model W1062B dial does not move on?

My Bendix Washing Machine W1062B bought in Australia in 2001 suddenly now does not go unless I manually turn the knob to reach the next step in the cycle. Is this the timer broken or something else? However, for one short cycle I just give one turn and then it does actually complete that cycle but if I do the hour and a half cycle I have to keep on turning the dial myself. Has the timer gone or what please - Help!
