Mend Philips FW-C390 System Stopped Coming

REF Phillips Mini Hi- Fi System FW-C390?

I have the above system and the digital information display has stopped and now i have no information coming up , is their a simple cure for this.

We have 2 Phillips LC-120 micro systems which both exhibited a similar fault to yours. What we have found is that the system returns to normal once you hace cleaned the CD laser. there seems to be something in the opearting logic that prevents the system from functioning at all when it can't read the CD s. Don't know if this will help, but it did work for us.
