HOW TO TIGHTEN THE PLATE NUT ON LAWN MOWER?

THE PLATE NUT KEEPS COMING UNDONE EVERY TIME WE TRY TO START THE MOWER. IT WILL NOT START TODAY BUT IT STARTED YETSERDAY. iT IS A VICTA V30 GRASS CATCHER.iT FEELS LIKE THE PULLCORD IS SLIPPING. WHAT IS IT?????

Sorry, I may have misunderstood the question. I was talking about the nut under the mower holding the blade disc. Perhaps you meant something else by plate nut.

Insert a 9.5mm (or slightly smaller) diameter piece of steel into the slot in the sleeve above the blade disc. The steel should be long enough to catch against the side of the mower to stop it from turning when you tighten the nut. I cut the end off a large screwdriver and used this.
