how to fix a lawnmower?

I have a craftmans mower and the spark plug keeps getting saturated with gas. model#917.388861, serial#031805m015632. It will start and run for about 5 seconds and die, then the plug will be soak with gas again. It is a 6.5

I have a toro recycler 22" personal pacer. The torsion spring broke which is located underneath the handle assembly. I would like to replace the spring, but a bar runs through the spring from one side of the handle to the other. How do I replace the spring, I need to get the spring in the bar.

It sounds like the needle and seat are getting stuck ......especally if you let mower sit up with gas in it
Over a period of time gas will turn to a laquer
Sounds like a carb overhaul is in what ya need
